Frilly gown, 1770s

Description

My frilly gown- not yet as frilly as it will be. The rushings on the bodice will extend to the skirt, and the petticoats will have more rows as well. The stomacher will probably be re-decorrated as well- at least when I feel the need to rejuvenate it.

Pattern is from Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion. Worn over pocket hoops and stays. The material is faux (I know, I know) shot taffeta in grey and gold and pink ribbons inherited from my grandmother. The cheapest gown I've made- around 200 SKr (around $17).
